January: Rekindling Creative Practice

It’s January.

Snow blankets Worlds End Farm creating an almost monochrome landscape, as bare branches sway against grey skies.

The stuff we do in winter doesn’t have to amount to anything. It’s just upkeep and sweeping out the corners, yet that can be difficult.

“I don't have anything that I'm accomplishing. And since my self-worth is tied to accomplishment…

…in the winter time, I don't feel very good,” says Sarah.

In this episode she realizes how she’s fallen out of touch with her own creative practice, and decides to take her own advice.

She shares an artistic exercise that both gets the juices flowing and pushes back on the idea that art comes in a lightning bolt to the chosen.

She invites art to be part of mundane, everyday life, while examining her resistance to a popular book called The Artist’s Way by Julia Cameron.

As you watch Sarah investigate her own hypocrises, we hope this episode will stoke the flames of your own creative practice.
