Arranging Vases First, Flowers Second
In early spring, it’s easy to crave color before the landscape is ready to offer it. In this episode, Sarah works with what’s available: forced forsythia branches cut from a neighbor’s yard (with permission), greenhouse-grown ranunculus, and a selection of favorite vases.
Instead of putting everything into one arrangement, she starts with the vases themselves. The arrangement unfolds through a series of vessels, each holding its own weight while contributing to a larger sense of cohesion.
She also surprises herself multiple times when unexpected pairings and placements actually worked (when she thought they wouldn’t)!
